As the Infrastructure Hosting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's hosting infrastructure, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of servers, networks, and data centers. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing hosting strategies, maintaining high availability, security, and performance levels while optimizing cost-effectiveness. Your leadership and technical expertise will be critical in managing the team responsible for maintaining the hosting environment and collaborating with other IT teams to support various projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management:

    • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organization's hosting infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, networking equipment, and storage solutions.

    • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning to ensure scalability and optimal performance.

    • Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to minimize downtime and data loss risks.

  • Team Management:

    • Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers, providing guidance and fostering a positive work environment.

    • Assign tasks, set goals, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure the team's effectiveness and efficiency.

    • Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Hosting Strategy and Optimization:

    • Develop and implement hosting strategies that align with the organization's long-term goals, considering emerging technologies and industry best practices.

    • Analyze current infrastructure costs and identify opportunities to optimize expenses without compromising performance and security.

    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in hosting technologies to make informed decisions.

  • Security and Compliance:

    • Ensure that the hosting environment complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements, particularly regarding data security and privacy.

    • Implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.

    • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities proactively.

  • Vendor Management:

    • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts, manage service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

    • Evaluate vendor performance regularly and address any issues that may arise.

  • Incident Response and Problem Resolution:

    • Lead incident response efforts and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve hosting-related incidents promptly.

    • Conduct root cause analysis for critical incidents to prevent future occurrences.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with other IT teams, such as software development and operations, to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure services with applications.

    • Communicate with stakeholders, including senior management, to provide updates on infrastructure performance, initiatives, and projects.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure engineering and 3+ years in leadership or management roles.

  • Proven experience in managing hybrid environments (on-premise and cloud)

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of successfully leading technical teams.

  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, server hardware, virtualization technologies, and storage solutions.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.

  • Experience in managing & configuring the Cisco AnyConnect VPN and Cisco firewall.

  • Strong hands-on experience with automation and scripting including Python, Bash Shell, PowerShell, Terraform and Ansible.

  • Understanding of IT security best practices and risk management.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, AWS/Azure) are a plus.
