We are looking for a motivated Backend Developer Intern to join our engineering team. In this role, you will assist in building server-side logic, designing efficient database schemas, and developing robust APIs to power our applications while learning production backend architecture from senior engineers.
- API Development: Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining secure RESTful APIs.
- Database Management: Write efficient database queries, design relational or non-relational schemas, and handle basic data integration.
- Core Logic Implementation: Build server-side features, integrate third-party services, and write modular, maintainable code.
- Debugging & Testing: Identify system bottlenecks, resolve backend bugs, and write basic unit tests.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Work with frontend developers to integrate APIs smoothly and maintain clear technical documentation.
- Foundational knowledge of at least one backend technology (Node.js/Express, Python/Django/FastAPI, Java/Spring, or Go).
- Understanding database systems, such as SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB).
- Basic understanding of RESTful API principles and data structures.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub/GitLab for version control.
- Solid problem-solving skills and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) fundamentals.
- Exposure to TypeScript for server-side development.
- Basic understanding of containerization tools like Docker.
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman or Insomnia.
- Knowledge of authentication protocols (JWT, OAuth) or ORMs (Prisma, TypeORM, SQLAlchemy).
- Personal projects or open-source backend contributions on GitHub..
