Role Summary
As the OSS (Omnichannel Services & Solutions) Global Operations Internal Tools Solutions Engineer you are responsible for overseeing the architecture and design of OSS internal proprietary tools, ensuring they meet the organization's needs for functionality, scalability, and reliability. You will play a critical role in guiding the development team and implementing best practices to deliver high-quality solutions.
As a Manager, your advanced knowledge of the principles and concepts in the discipline and comprehensive knowledge of other disciplines will enable you to lead complex projects across the division. Your ability to develop and manage plans will facilitate in achieving objectives, interpreting internal and external business challenges and recommending best practices for improvements. While managing complex project environments, you will be able to anticipate and troubleshoot roadblocks and influence teams to achieve targets for the division.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Lead the architectural design and technical strategy for OSS internal proprietary tools, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with the Tools Product Owner and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and design documents.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform architectural decisions and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and architectural principles.
  • Review code and architectural designs to maintain consistency, quality, and alignment with established standards.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance and Compliance Lead to define testing strategies and ensure thorough testing of internal tools to identify and address defects and performance issues.
  • Implement automated testing frameworks and tools to streamline the testing process and improve overall product quality.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on features and functionality based on user testing and validation.
  • Foster collaboration and open communication within the development team and with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Partner with the Tools Product Owner to prioritize development efforts and ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, technical challenges, and proposed solutions to senior leadership and other relevant stakeholders.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
  • Proven experience (8-10 years) in a technical leadership role, with a focus on software architecture and design.
  • Extensive experience (8-10 years) designing and developing complex, scalable, and reliable software solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as AWS Lambda, python, EC2, S3, Opensource software, PHP, Laravel., Serverless Microservice; Drupal experience a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of software development methodologies, Agile practices, and DevOps principles.
  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud concepts with experience in utilising different services to balance performance vs cost
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and analytically.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


Nice-to-Have

  • Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience working on global programs a plus
  • Good understanding for what the business customers expectations are and what their preferences are and how digital fits in
