Lead iOS development: design, build, test, and maintain scalable iOS apps using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit. Own architecture, CI/CD, releases, performance monitoring, mentor developers, run code/architecture reviews, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive mobile engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee day-to-day iOS development activities, providing technical guidance and mentorship to developers while ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust iOS applications using Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and related Apple frameworks.
- Own the technical architecture and roadmap for iOS applications, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, performant, and aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, Architects, Backend Engineers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to define and deliver mobile solutions.
- Analyze business, product, and system requirements, translating them into effective technical designs and implementation strategies.
- Drive application design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Lead the development and maintenance of reusable frameworks, UI components, libraries, and shared modules that improve development efficiency and consistency.
- Evaluate and ensure compatibility across Apple devices, iOS versions, APIs, and third-party integrations.
- Establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, deployment processes, and App Store release management practices.
- Monitor application health, performance, crash analytics, and production stability, driving continuous improvements and proactive issue resolution.
- Manage sprint planning, technical estimations, backlog refinement, and delivery commitments within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Support and maintain existing applications while leading the development of new features, enhancements, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges, performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and production incidents.
- Conduct root cause analysis for critical issues and implement long-term corrective and preventive measures.
- Provide regular project updates, technical recommendations, and risk assessments to leadership and stakeholders.
- Drive adoption of mobile engineering standards, development frameworks, governance processes, and industry best practices.
- Mentor, coach, and support team members through technical leadership, knowledge sharing, and career development initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks, recommending innovations that improve product quality, team productivity, and engineering excellence.
- Contribute to strategic technology decisions and help shape the organization's mobile engineering vision and roadmap.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software development experience with at least 5+ years focused on iOS application development.
- Strong expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and Apple mobile application architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.).
- Experience leading development teams and delivering enterprise-scale iOS applications.
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, networking, multithreading, memory management, and mobile security practices.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, automated testing frameworks, App Store deployment, and release management.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of cross-platform technologies and modern mobile development trends.
- Experience in mentoring distributed or offshore development teams.
- Exposure to mobile analytics, observability, and performance monitoring tools.
