Role Summary

Sonatus is looking for a Software Developer to join our Vehicle Applications team in Dublin, Ireland. In this role, you’ll design and build high-performance, data-driven applications that run on edge computing platforms inside vehicles. You’ll collaborate across teams to deliver robust software solutions that drive the future of connected and software-defined vehicles. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge automotive technology in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop robust, high-performance data applications for edge computing systems in vehicles.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable C++ code.
  • Implement and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Debug, diagnose, and resolve complex issues.
  • Collaborate closely with other developers, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams of our customers and partners throughout the development lifecycle.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience contributing to production-grade software systems.
  • Independent proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 or newer), with evidence of knowledge in multi-threading, concurrent programming & unit / integration testing.
  • Exposure to software development on Linux platforms.
  • Familiarity with build systems such as CMake, Bazel, or equivalents.
  • Operational knowledge with operating systems, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Strong debugging and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with Python and shell scripting for automation or tooling.
  • A collaborative mindset.
  • Motivated by delivering high-quality software and validating it in a real-world automotive environment.
Preferred
  • Experience with automotive software development on Linux or Android platforms.
  • Understanding of automotive communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, MQTT, and TCP/IP.
  • Exposure to edge computing, connected vehicle platforms, or real-time systems.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
