Job Overview:
The IT Pillar Specialist applies their conceptual knowledge of IT Pillar (IT) and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward IT Pillar (IT) problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, as well as building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The IT Pillar Specialist understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:
Customization
- S3D Catalog Creation
- Piping Specs and Catalog. Should have good understanding of piping rules.
- Equipment, Electrical, Instrumentation and Structure Catalog Creation.
- Symbol Creation.
- Isometric Customization
- Piping Isometric Customization including creation of labels.
- View Style Creation
- GA drawings view styles for Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation and Structural
- Reports Creation
- Report creation using VB.Net/C# is an added advantage.
- Custom Commands
- Custom commands creation using C# and VB.Net
- Administration activities
- Setup
- Should be well versed with GWC configuration.
- Should have hands on experience with S3D Setup activities which includes database restoration/Permission Groups and setting up of system hierarchy.
- Should have hands of experience in Interference setup and codeless interference rules.
- Should have hands on experience in creating Naming Rules.
- Should have hands on experience in creating filters, surface style rules and creation of review files (SPR and Navisworks)
- Resolution of Designer Issues
- Should be well versed with modelling procedures and should have hands on experience in troubleshooting designer issues and development of best practices for modelling.
- Setup
Additional:
Exposure to Software skills on Aveva 3D or any other Smartplant tool
Reports to:
- Manager - Area Engineering IT
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 2-6 years’ experience in S3D Administration.
- Utilizes current systems technology, tools and processes to achieve these aims.
- Good understanding of engineering practices & project execution concepts.
- An understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes in executing an EPC project
- In addition to the industry background, the analyst will need strong skills in the following areas: communication, developing and documenting requirements and specifications, development, and planning of processes to solve the user’s business and application needs, and IT project management methodology
- Good communication skills are a must
- Working knowledge of the business units or processes supported by the application
- In-depth understanding of how the application software has been set up and integrated to support business needs
- Ability to conduct functional testing of the application
- Complete understanding of data use, processes, and output
