Job Summary
The IT Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst reports to the Vice President of System Development and plays a key role in ensuring software quality throughout the development lifecycle, with a primary focus on manual testing and a long-term goal of contributing to automated testing. Working closely with developers and the solution architect, this role helps ensure applications are stable, reliable, and meet functional requirements before deployment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Executes manual test cases for new features, bug fixes, and system changes
Works with a solution architect to co-author test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria
Verifies that applications meet documented requirements and perform as expected across environments
Identifies, documents, and tracks defects using established issue tracking systems
Collaborates with developers throughout the sprint lifecycle to clarify test scope and expected outcomes
Contributes to the development of regression and integration testing practices
Supports the exploration and implementation of automated testing tools as part of the long-term QA strategy.
Performs other duties as assigned to support team and business objectives
Required Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in an IT support or developer role with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related technical field required, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with software testing tools (e.g., Postman, OpenText ALM/UFT) preferred
Experience with basic SQL and browser-based testing preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of software development concepts and workflows
Knowledge of software testing and practices
Ability to document, reproduce, and communicate defects clearly
Ability to learn and apply structured testing methodologies
Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring quality results
Quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills
Organizational and time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively within an agile development environment
Clear and effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members
