ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Satellite Link Engineer is the primary point of contact for satellite link technical analysis for the relevant SES vertical department. The role will provide support to the technical team in specific areas such as link budget calculations (MEO & GEO), transmission planning and authorization, CRM database entries, ground station and remote VSAT sizing, operational support and assistance in preparing customer presentations.

The Satellite Link Engineer is the primary point of contact for satellite link technical analysis for the relevant SES vertical department. The role will provide support to the technical team in specific areas such as link budget calculations (MEO & GEO), transmission planning and authorization, CRM database entries, ground station and remote VSAT sizing, operational support and assistance in preparing customer presentations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
- Satellite link analysis to include gateway and remote terminal sizing using satellite vendor baseband products and SES satellite assets
- Support technical team to ensure technical solutions are presented clearly and address commercial considerations
- Creation and management of technical documentation to include Line-Up messages, antenna registration and carrier transmission plans
- Support the technical team in service optimization for mobile terminals to include beam allocations, planning, link analysis and platform assignments
- Provide customer support for operational services such as carrier transmission planning/optimization, NOC/PMOC operational support and CRM updates
- Perform engineering analysis guidance to determine how new and existing services can be optimized
- Support operational events, contingency planning, and regulatory considerations
- Track and understand new satellite access schemes, antenna design, and satellite communication systems

- Ability to work in an agile, high-paced environment
- Good cultural understanding of variances within the region and as such the differences in market settings, customers' expectations & requirements
- Advanced data analytical skills
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment, set priorities and deliver within tight timeline
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering/communications/computer science.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Engineering experience
- Strong knowledge in satellite transmission analysis and Link Budget engineering, antenna theory and operation
- Knowledge of satellite terminal basics
- Knowledge of IP networking to include Cloud based solutions is a plus
- Good English communication skills, verbal and written, is essential
