Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic DevOps Lead Engineer to work to work at the forefront of our cloud modernization within our Credit & Verification Services.

You will be #LI-hybrid based in Hyderabad and reporting to Director Engineering

 

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will lead a agile engineering team responsible for delivering the product backlog of the Credit Report Cloud Foundation Platform. You will guide and mentor a team of DevOps engineers and collaborate closely with development teams to enable rapid and reliable infrastructure provisioning. Your leadership will be critical in piloting foundational setups, driving automation across CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring seamless integration with cloud-native environments. You will play a strategic role in accelerating development velocity, improving platform reliability, and fostering operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Own the design and implementation of scalable CI/CD pipelines across multiple teams.
  • Architect and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
  • Provision and manage resilient and scalable infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Drive the adoption of DevSecOps practices, embedding security early in the development lifecycle.
  • Implement and oversee robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and observability.
  • Ensure infrastructure meets standards for security, compliance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Champion an automation-first mindset across the team and engineering practices.
  • Provide technical leadership in fulfilling non-functional requirements such as performance, reliability, and scalability.

 

Qualifications

  • Qualified with a degree in B.Sc. in Computer Science, MCA in Computer Science, Bachelor of Technology in Engineering, or higher.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in building and supporting cloud-native solutions on AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience working in agile teams and contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and innovation in DevSecOps practices.
  • Automation-first mindset – proactively seeks opportunities to automate and optimise engineering workflows.

Required Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • Expertise in CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Harness, AWS CodeBuild/CodeDeploy, or Azure Pipelines.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CDK, and/or CloudFormation.
  • Deep understanding of networking fundamentals including IP addressing, DNS, routing, firewalls, and WAFs.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, with preference for Amazon EKS.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles and IAM policy design.
  • Experience working and leading a team in Agile environments and contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
  •  

Desirable & Useful skills:

  • Experience with GitHub Enterprise and GitOps practices.
  • Familiarity with server-less architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Step Functions).
  • Exposure to AI/ML tools and their integration into DevOps workflows.
  • Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimisation strategies.
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a strong plus.
  • Experience with Generative AI (Gen AI) in DevSecOps and software engineering contexts.
