About Maersk:

Maersk, the world’s largest integrated logistics company, is transforming how goods move across continents — and at the heart of that shift is platform-led AI. Through MIDAS (Maersk Integrated Data and AI Solution), we are building an enterprise-grade data and AI foundation that powers operational intelligence, customer copilots, agent-based automation, and emissions optimization at global scale.

We’re hiring a foundational team to build our AI/ML Platform - a composable, governed, multi-tenant layer enabling enterprise-wide GenAI, RAG pipelines, and ML lifecycle management. If you’re excited to architect and scale real-time LLM infrastructure, reusable ML workflows, and agentic systems, this is your moment.

Overview:

As Lead ML Engineer, you’ll architect ML lifecycle infrastructure across MIDAS—defining scalable workflows for model training, deployment, observability, and compliance. You will establish MLOps patterns that are consistent, governed, and aligned with real-time and batch use cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect model training, serving, and retraining pipelines (CI/CD for ML)
  • Lead infrastructure design for model registries, feature stores, and evaluation hooks
  • Build GPU-ready inference infrastructure with observability and autoscaling
  • Collaborate on unified governance across ML/LLM lifecycle: versioning, lineage, retention
  • Mentor engineers across ML, MLOps, and integration areas

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 10+ years in ML engineering, platform, or data infra roles
  • Deep experience with MLOps: MLflow, SageMaker, KServe, or Vertex AI
  • Proven ability to scale batch and real-time ML pipelines in production
  • Strong contributor to platform foundations (infra as code, observability, SLOs)
  • Familiarity with hybrid ML + GenAI architectures a strong plus

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
