About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Network Engineer, responsible for overseeing the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise firewall systems. This role ensures that firewall policies align with organizational security standards and compliance requirements. The coordinator will lead a team of firewall administrators, manage change control processes, and serve as the primary liaison between security, network, and application teams.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead the review, resolution and implementation for the most complex technical issues and initiatives related to large scale network applications, data systems, voice and other technical products and services
  • Coordinate teams that use and create diagnostic, simulation and other tools to maintain, troubleshoot and restore service or data to systems
  • Evaluate or review queries to extract data, create standard procedures, or perform limited programming to fine tune systems supported
  • Lead in the coordination, installation, support and maintenance of Firewall network infrastructure
  • Provide technical coordination support to end users regarding hardware and application issues
  • Drive initiatives that support network services including but not limited to switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networks and network security
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and application teams to ensure secure and efficient connectivity.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to firewall administrators and junior staff.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of firewall procedures.
  • Perform complex migrations from development to production, upgrades, installations and configurations
  • Make decisions in security and regulatory policies to design and implement foolproof secured network solutions
  • Assess changes for risk to production systems and assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported areas
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of experience in coordinating large complex network or firewall initiatives.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong organization skills
  • 1+ years of experience with SharePoint and excel tools
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced technical environment
  • Driving team deliverables and execution while coordinating efforts with external teams
  • Understanding of data reporting through Confluence/SharePoint
  • Ability to self-manage
