- Designs and develops conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data integration, data warehousing, and business intelligence solutions.
- Collaborates with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and understand data requirements and translate them into data models.
- Ensures data models are optimized for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Works with data architects to ensure data models align with the overall data architecture and strategy.
- Develops and maintains data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation.
- Conducts data model reviews and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Supports data governance initiatives by ensuring data models adhere to data quality and data management standards.
- Assists in the development and implementation of data modeling best practices and standards.
- Provides support and guidance to development teams during the implementation of data models.
- Stays up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data modeling techniques and tools.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Proven experience as a Data Modeler or in a similar role for more than 5 years
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, including normalization, denormalization, and dimensional modeling.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ER/Studio, ERwin, or similar.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and data warehousing solutions.
- Knowledge of data integration and ETL processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
