As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Operations Technology Line of Business, you will play a vital role in an agile team dedicated to improving, developing, and providing reliable, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Your core responsibilities include being a key technical contributor, tasked with implementing essential technology solutions across diverse technical domains to support the firm's business goals.
Job responsibilities
  • Utilizing Java Development to create medium and large sized Java web applications including client interactions, system design, frontend/UI development, interaction with Java EE application server, and web services
  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
  • Working with Java EE APIs; Working with development builds using Maven pattern builds
  • Application deployments using Jenkins, Jules and JFrog artifactory
  • Integration/enterprise testing utilizing Wiremock, Hoverfly, Jmeter and BlazeMeter; support of applications within a production environment using Grafana, Splunk and Dynatrace
  • Implementing Micro services using Spring Boot and Event Driven architecture using Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS; working with REST, JSON, XML Web APIs development
  • Working with Spring MVC, Spring data and Spring Security
  • Working with testing frameworks including Cucumber, Selenium, and Junit; working with mock testing frameworks such as Mockito;
  • Working with SQL and Databases such as Oracle, AWS Aurora, MySQL, etc.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Working knowledge of AgenticAI Models
  • Familiarity with AI tools like LLMs, GenAI
  • Hands on experience with AWS Cloud Services
