As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the development of server-side applications using Java and Spring.
- Design and develop scalable architectures, ensuring performance efficiency.
- Implement messaging frameworks, with a preference for Kafka.
- Develop and execute automated testing strategies, including end-to-end testing.
- Collaborate effectively within an agile team setting and communicate with key stakeholders.
- Provide DevOps production support to ensure application stability and address business queries.
- Mentor junior developers and drive design and code review sessions.
- Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring server-side development.
- Proficiency with NoSql databases - Cassandra
- Expertise in designing scalable architectures and developing performance-efficient applications.
- Experience with messaging frameworks, particularly ActiveMQ, Tibco.
- Proficiency in automated testing, including end-to-end processes.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to provide DevOps support and mentor junior team members.
- Capability to lead design and code review sessions.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with AWS and cloud services.
- Good Understanding UI development using React JS/.Net
- Familiarity with container technologies.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD.
- Knowledge of SRE concepts, such as monitoring and log tracing.
