As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and wealth management technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develop secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Implement ETL processes to ensure seamless data integration from multiple sources.
- Innovate and deliver high-quality solutions with a strong motivation to achieve results.
- Apply test-driven development and testing frameworks to ensure robust data solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a team-building attitude.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using Postgres (AWS Aurora) and other technologies.
- Perform performance tuning to optimize data systems and processes, performance and benchmarking of systems experience and skillset is required.
- Hands on-experience of analysis, solutioning and troubleshooting developments in programming languages such as Python and Java to build scalable data solutions.
- Utilize messaging technologies like Kafka to manage data streams effectively.
- Work with data formats such as JSON and XML to ensure data compatibility and integrity.
- Participate in Agile development methodologies to deliver projects efficiently.
- Use version control tools like Bit Bucket and GIT to manage code and collaborate with team members.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in the Wealth Management domain is a plus.
- Familiarity with container technologies like Kubernetes and Docker and knowledge of building microservices architecture.
- Experience with distributed caches to enhance data retrieval performance.
- Proficiency in monitoring tools like Splunk and Dynatrace for system analysis.
- Experience in building REST APIs to facilitate data access and integration.
