Job Description
The Role
The chosen candidate will be at the core of developing our strategic in-house multi-asset trading platform, integrating with a multitude of liquidity providers and market makers. This group is pivotal in shaping the electronic interactions of the desk to discover liquidity and pricing available in the market. We operate within a microservices trading environment integrating with multiple front office and back-office systems to manage risk and settlement of all trades done by the trading desk. Our team is tasked with constructing a resilient, high-capacity UI platform that supports the firm's business and regulatory agenda, capturing data from investment idea through trading and settlement.
The role offers a modern technology stack including NextJS. TypeScript, React, and more. We are constantly developing new tools as the business expands, so we are seeking candidates who are confident in suggesting new technologies/methodologies when appropriate. Our products are primarily built in

  • Next.js / React.js
  • TypeScript
  • react-query
  • NX monorepo
  • Vitest / Storybook / Visual Regression Testing
  • Real-time viewserver comms via WebSockets


The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and building our next-generation Trading UI platform.
  • Working with other technologists, traders, and quants to deliver business solutions.
  • Staying updated on the latest web UI libraries and open-source tools
  • Taking ownership of projects from inception to completion, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions
  • Managing the full Software Delivery Lifecycle including coding, testing, deployment, and support, in a DevOps environment.


This role requires a diverse array of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Strong technologist with experience developing in TypeScript and React
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and business requirements, with a focus on Java programming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Numerate degree or equivalent (Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics).
  • Experience of working in financial services, in a front-office environment is a bonus.
