Job Title – Lead Software Engineer

Opportunity for Mainframe Lead  Software Engineering for development, deployment, and support of the Mainframe application and infrastructure

The Purpose of This Role

Lead end-to-end technical execution and support of mainframe applications and infrastructure within a complex z/OS environment. Manage full lifecycle of mainframe solutions—from design to deployment—while partnering with teams in India and US.

• Drive deliveries on key projects, initiatives and modernization efforts in Mainframe.

• Monitor and control all phases of development process i.e. analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation and providing operational support to business units.

• Collaborate with peers, participate in code reviews and promote a culture of knowledge sharing within the team.

• Facilitate cross-functional efforts to drive innovation in mainframe projects.

• Mentor and guide teams in executing projects and supporting the environment.   

• Drive high-availability and recovery planning for mission-critical mainframe applications.

• Stay informed about Industry trends and foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.

• Provide 12x7 On-Call Support on weekly basis to support production-related incidents. 

• Manage and close issues with thorough investigation and sustainable solutions.

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical / Behavioral

• Should possess good knowledge on CICS, COBOL, DB2, MQ, VSAM, and JCL.

• Should be familiar with DB2 tools, File-Aid, scheduler and debugger tools

• Good CICS System and MQ knowledge would be valuable.

• Knowledge of Java & Python will be nice to have skillset

• Ensure Incidents and Problems are resolved in line within SLA

• Ensure processes and procedures are strictly adhered to

• Work collaboratively across the India and US team to help develop, promote and implement projects and  initiatives.

• Must be Motivated, Self-driven and consistently delivering effective solutions.

• Good interpersonal skills, ability to maintain good working relationships with India and onsite partner teams.

• Must be able to act as a team player as well as work independently

• Must be a quick learner and adapt to new tools and technologies

• Project management capability would be an added advantage.

• Provide 12x7 On-Call Support

• Willingness to work off hours as per company standards

The Expertise We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree

• 5 to 9 years of technical experience in Mainframe application development and support
