Role Summary
The Platform Engineer will work within the SRE team to build, enhance, and support enterprise-grade monitoring, observability, and automation platforms. The engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure platform reliability, scalability, and integration with key IT operations tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain infrastructure components supporting monitoring and observability platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace, OpsRamp, SolarWinds).
- Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot containerized workloads on OpenShift.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployments, configuration, and data pipelines.
- Integrate observability platforms with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
- Implement dashboards, alerting rules, and performance metrics following SRE best practices.
- Troubleshoot platform issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures.
- Collaborate with SRE, application teams, and TOC for operational excellence.
- Ensure platform security, compliance, and adherence to governance policies.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong experience in Linux, networking fundamentals, and cloud concepts.
- Hands-on with observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace, OpsRamp, SolarWinds.
- Expertise in scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
- Strong understanding of MELT: Metrics, Events, Logs & Traces.
- Experience with containers & orchestration: OpenShift, Docker.
- Knowledge of SLI/SLO/Error Budgets and core SRE practices.
- Strong hands-on with at least 2 major observability tools
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible).
- API integration experience.
- Knowledge of automation tools (Power Automate, Jenkins, Git).
