Role Description
As a lead frontend engineer for our Lending tribe, you will have a specialisation in Web technology but use your much wider technical experience to help steer your team and peer developers.
This is a hands-on role so will be expected to support feature development as well as provide leadership to other frontend developers. You will help define how we use frontend applications to drive our banking products. You will share your passion and experience with others and encourage a sharing and caring culture as well as supporting less experienced teammates to grow and develop.
Your remit will go beyond projects as the wider engineering community will look to you for coaching and advice. You will be a strong influence on others and your success will largely be based on that.
Principal Accountabilities
Design, develop and deploy frontend applications.
Collaboration with product owners, backend engineers and other stakeholders to facilitate the development of new features and applications.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement in your specialism and in your Community of Practice, leading by example.
Help run your community of practice, encouraging broad participation.
Proactively seek out learning opportunities for you and your colleagues.
Mentor and support more junior colleagues e.g., through pair programming, Code reviews etc.
Help more junior colleagues plan their careers and progress at Allica.
Personal Attributes & Experience
Expert in JavaScript, Typescript, React + Hooks, Redux, HTML5 and SASS/CSS.
Strong experience of Unit and Integration testing with Jest and React Testing Library
Experience of automation testing with Playwright, Cypress or similar frameworks
Knowledge of Nx and Micro Front End architecture will be beneficial.
Knowledge of UX/UI design.
Experienced with CI/CD and modern DevOps tools. Exposure to Azure DevOps Pipelines will be beneficial.
