The Role

As a Mainframe Production and control-Scheduler at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.
There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 10+ Years of Strong hands-on experience in Mainframe Production Control and Scheduling within IBM z/OS environments.
• Proven expertise in CA-7 Workload Automation for batch job scheduling, monitoring, and control.
• In-depth knowledge of JCL, batch processing, and job flow dependencies.

• Experience creating, maintaining, and modifying CA-7 job definitions, including: Jobnets, run cycles, calendars, triggers, and schedules.

• Proficiency in using CA-7 commands for production support (e.g., DEMAND, HOLD, RELEASE, FORCE, LJOB, FJOB)

•Experience with ISPF, SDSF, and mainframe utilities for job analysis and monitoring.

• Knowledge of batch cycle management, critical path monitoring, and restart/recovery procedures.

• Familiarity with production migrations, change implementation, and schedule promotion across environments.

• Exposure to other scheduling or enterprise workload automation tools (e.g., Control-M, Tivoli, Autosys) is a plus.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Strong understanding of production control processes and operational best practices.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 production support environment, including on-call rotations.
• Strong communication and coordination skills to interact with application teams, operations, and infrastructure groups.

• Experience documenting scheduling procedures, run books, and operational guidelines.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational stability and risk mitigation.

• Willingness to mentor junior staff and share scheduling best practices.
