What you’ll achieve
As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing teams that develop sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment. You will work with product management, other engineering teams, customer success and support the development of cutting edge new product features and enhancements across various areas of Boomi offerings.
You will:
- Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that enables the team to achieve results while maintaining a healthy work-life balance
- Identify and nurture individual strengths and development areas within the team.
- Align team goals with the broader company vision and objectives
- Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance reviews.
- Project Management
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and other engineering teams.
- Manage project timelines, dependencies, and risks.
- Technical Guidance
- Provide technical leadership and expertise to the team
- Review and approve architectural designs and technical decisions.
- Stay current with industry trends and incorporate best practices.
- Facilitate technical design discussions and decisions.
- Implement and maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and performance
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in code quality and engineering processes.
- Oversee code reviews, testing procedures, and deployment processes
- Collaboration
- Work closely with product managers to define project scope and priorities.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, gather feedback, and align on goals
- Ensure customer requirements are translated into functional software features
- Innovation & Process Improvement
- Continuously evaluate and improve development processes and workflows
- Implement best practices in agile methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps.
- Drive initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce technical debt, and improve team productivity
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the product and technology.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare for and respond to operational incidents and outages.

- Bachelors or Masters degree in CSE
- 13+ years of enterprise software development experience using object-oriented languages like Java
- 2+ years of managing engineering teams, with increasing responsibilities, in an enterprise software company
- Expertise in designing, analyzing, and architecting large-scale distributed systems and experience in large-scale data processing technologies like Apache Spark.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design concepts for delivering and maintaining a software product and familiarity with established design patterns.
- Strong experience with SQL and relational database systems and knowledge of Application Integration and/or Data Integration (ETL) domains
- Experience with cloud ecosystems like AWS, Azure and associated connectivity
- Experience with Devops tools like Jenkins and other CI/CD tools
- Strong technical communication skills (verbal and written) to interface with cross functional technical teams within the organization
Desirable Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in architecting and implementing APIs and integration technologies in distributed enterprise environments using a combination of technologies, languages or standards like REST, SOAP, JSON, Python, Java etc.
- Experience developing and maintaining large software systems in production, with large customer bases; familiarity with high throughput web applications and backend systems
- Knowledge of microservices based architecture and related technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
- Evangelist of test automation, CI/CD, and DevOps principles as core deliverables
- Experience with agile and lean development practices
