Human Resources Manager – Special Projects
Summary: The Human Resources Manager – Special Projects directs all of the strategic and tactical special projects related to human resources. The manager focuses on HR and business-related projects that impact employees and company culture.  Responsible for identifying and driving process improvement and utilizing a customer-focused approach to Human Resources projects and initiatives.

Human Resources Manager – Special Projects

Summary: The Human Resources Manager – Special Projects directs all of the strategic and tactical special projects related to human resources. The manager focuses on HR and business-related projects that impact employees and company culture.  Responsible for identifying and driving process improvement and utilizing a customer-focused approach to Human Resources projects and initiatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads and/or participate in targeted individual and organization diagnostic processes.  These individuals and organizations have been targeted due to poor organizational performance related to employee issues and/or Service Center financial performance.
  • Participate on the creation and review of Workday Business Process documentation for compliance and functionality
  • Plan procedures for improving the candidate onboarding experience through year one of employment and improving the exit process for employees
  • Collaborate with managers to review, edit, and develop job profiles
  • Maintains strong collaborative and working relationships with all levels of management.
  • Owns major end-to-end processes and projects. 
  • Facilitates problem-solving activities - defines problems, root causes, designs and tests solutions.
  • Project management (policies, Workday modules, integrations, workplace organizational development interventions, etc.)
  • Assist in designing, reviewing, implementing, and administering policies and programs; respond to inquiries regarding policies.
  • Provides training to employees and managers for modules within HR software applications
  • Develop and implement HR programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Champions strategies to improve turnover and employee morale
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders, including outside agencies, vendors, and committees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of HR Generalist experience and/or HRIS and or Systems experience.
  • Experience with individual and organization interventions; interpreting individual assessments
  • Previous supervisory responsibilities are preferred.
  • Previous project management experience required, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal liability insurance coverage at or above the minimum requirements of the legal state of residence.

Skills Required:

  • Exceptional communication skills (clear and concise, communicate simple and complex ideas).
  • Exhibits strong reasoning/analyzing and process flow skills to generate a conclusion.
  • Ability to rely on experience and sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Strong computer and reporting skills; knowledge of HRIS/Payroll systems.
  • Broad knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Team player able to work with others collaboratively, respectfully, and productively.
  • Must be able to effectively manage and direct multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, presentation, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong analytical skills for policy writing and project management
  • Requires an understanding of Human Resources policies and terminology and business processes
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • Occasional Travel        
  • Initially training mode and then in-office work environment
  • After-hours and weekend work may be required.
