Purpose:

The perfect candidate for the Regional Therapeutic Manager (RTM) role should have a solid foundation in sales and marketing, coupled with a strategic and execution-oriented mindset. They need to be proactive, have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, an analytical approach, and the ability to lead without direct authority. Additionally, it's essential to have a demonstrated history of successfully executing marketing initiatives from start to finish within set deadlines.

This vital field-based marketing role supports the implementation of Lilly’s Diabetes & Obesity central marketing strategy. The RTM is responsible for executing promotional activities in compliance with high standards, conducting post-program data analysis, and routinely presenting insights to Business Unit leadership. Key responsibilities include influencing healthcare professionals' beliefs about disease states and Lilly products, enhancing patient outcomes, and ensuring a satisfactory customer experience during direct or indirect interactions with HCPs. Additionally, the RTM aims to improve brand perception within their region, increase brand awareness and conviction among medical professionals, and promote the digital adoption of resources like Video on Demand, Veeva Suggestions, and VAE. The RTM will also manage the National and Regional thought leader tracker for their specified area, maintaining regular contact points and developing strong interpersonal relationships to ensure an outstanding customer experience.

Lead Execution of Central Marketing Plan:

The RTM will be tasked with implementing the central marketing plan, in close cooperation with the Sales team to deploy brand strategies. This position involves managing regional marketing OPEX to maximise resource efficiency and overseeing the Omnichannel Engagement (OCE) plan to ensure effective communication of product value propositions. Primary duties include strategic planning and compliant execution of marketing activities as per company policies, assessing program success, fostering robust relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), analysing execution data, and obtaining field insights in collaboration with Sales Representatives. Moreover, the RTM will conduct speaker briefings, coordinate congresses, handle headquarters not managed by Sales teams as a Growth Manager and collect market intelligence.

Customer Experience, Compliance, and Integrity in Relationship Management:

The RTM role is crucial in providing Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) with an outstanding experience working with Lilly, as demonstrated by superior Net Promoter Scores (NPS) compared to competitors. This position emphasizes developing and maintaining trust-based relationships with both external and internal key stakeholders and HCPs. Responsibilities include offering customized educational support and scientific resources, promoting cross-functional collaboration to ensure strategic consistency, and effective communication. Furthermore, the role entails monitoring marketing campaign performance, gathering feedback from HCPs, taking necessary actions, reporting significant insights, and keeping abreast of market trends and competitor activities. Ensuring strict compliance with all local and company policies and procedures is essential, aligning promotional materials and activities with Good Promotional Practices, adhering to Good Documentation Practices, and reinforcing Lilly's commitment to ethical business conduct.

Ownership and Expansion in Strategic Regions:

Drive growth initiatives in strategically important regions where Lilly currently lacks a dedicated sales team. Actively seek out and seize opportunities to promote product adoption by cultivating strong, enduring relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs). Take full responsibility for these areas, using omnichannel engagement tactics to guarantee thorough and consistent coverage, achieving measurable results through monthly interactions that maintain Lilly's market presence. Regularly visit significant HCPs and accounts in these regions to understand the support they need for their scientific requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree, preferably in science or business (MBA is preferred).
  • 2-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or related roles.
  • Proven track record of customer engagement and territory management.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Experience in pre-launch and launch activities
