Do work that matters
This role sits in the Strategy & Performance Technology Supplier Ops and Optimisation team. We partner with all corners of the Technology business, Workforce, Strategy, Risk, Finance, and Procurement to ensure operational excellence across the full supplier portfolio.
Your Impact
As the Manager Supplier Optimisation, you will support supplier transformation and strategy initiatives to uplift supplier management and governance. You will manage stakeholders from across the Technology department. You will focus on continuous improvement and supplier optimisation, all the while, ensuring our operational and governance responsibilities are upheld.
Working within the guardrails of the Groups Supplier Governance Framework and the control environment in which it operates—you will harness data to craft compelling, insight-led narratives that inform and influence senior management. Through timely and strategic reporting of supplier-related programs, you’ll be an integral part of strategic and transformation initiatives. Leveraging AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, you’ll innovatively transform the way we work.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Provide strategic support to our Supplier commercial leads and Business Owners, using data-driven insights to guide decision-making and elevate and optimise supplier performance.
Uplift and monitor supplier performance through intelligent dashboards and predictive analytics, transforming raw data into compelling stories that inform governance decisions.
Coordinate and manage commercial and risk projects, ensuring the Bank remains protected from exposure —supported by proactive, insight-led reporting.
Collaborate with Relationship Managers to streamline supplier performance monitoring through enhanced governance reporting and storytelling that resonates with stakeholders.
Liaise with relevant teams to understand and deliver group initiatives, including framework-related changes, ensuring data is used to communicate impact and progress effectively.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Technology Business and the wider Group—using data to foster trust, influence decisions, and drive continuous improvement.
Note that this is not a Vendor Management / procurement role.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
A critical and analytical mindset, with the ability to use data not just to solve problems—but to tell compelling stories that influence decisions and shape strategy.
Confident presentation skills and a strong ability to build and communicate executive level PowerPoint narratives
Experience in banking, financial services, or other relevant sectors, with a proven ability to navigate complex environments.
Experience in the supplier governance / strategy domain, with an understanding of governance frameworks and how to apply them to drive strategic outcomes.
Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, and a passion for using emerging technologies to surface meaningful insights, automate analysis, and support data-based decision-making.
Knowledge of Operational and Compliance Risk frameworks, and the ability to translate risk insights into clear, actionable business recommendations.
A talent for building strong working relationships and influencing senior leaders through well-articulated, insight-led points of view.
