The STMJ Central Marketing Team leads centrally scaled digital marketing programs to drive submissions and journal awareness across a global portfolio spanning Health & Medical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Social Sciences & Economics. The team partners with Publishing, STMJ Bespoke Marketing, STMJ China Marketing, Data & Analytics, Sales, and Product to translate portfolio priorities into data-driven execution at scale.
About the Role
We are looking for a results-driven Marketing Project Manager to join our Central Marketing Team. You will take day-to-day ownership of a high-visibility Journal Marketing Programme, spearheading programmatic and automated campaigns that grow author acquisition and readership, while streamlining our marketing operations. Reporting to the Head of STMJ Central Marketing, you will translate commercial goals into integrated, data-led initiatives that reinforce Elsevier’s strategic prioritie
Responsibilities
Programme leadership - Support, plan and execute the Journal Marketing Programme in collaboration with the Head of Central Marketing, the Central Marketing team, the Projects & Innovation team, and aligning with the Portfolio Marketing teams. Define KPIs, budgets, and timelines; track performance and optimise.
Campaign management - Further develop multi-channel acquisition campaigns for key journals in our portfolio. Ensure every campaign ladders up to a unified customer journey and consistent brand experience.
Stakeholder engagement - Facilitate regular forums with the above-mentioned teams to surface new opportunities and share results.
Continuous improvement - Document learnings, playbooks and SOPs so that wins are scaled post-secondment. Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Requirements
3–5 years’ journal or scholarly publishing marketing experience, ideally in STM.
Proven end-to-end project-management track record.
Deep familiarity with programmatic, marketing-automation, segmentation practices, adobe analytics, email marketing and multi-channel marketing approaches. Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence is a plus.
Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills; able to communicate complex ideas clearly to cross-functional and senior audiences.
Data-literate: comfortable interrogating dashboards and translating insights into action, strong with XLS and PPT.
Meticulous organiser with a growth mindset, able to thrive in a deadline-driven, matrix environment.
