This role leads L1 teams in monitoring and managing IP/MPLS network incidents, ensuring timely resolution and escalation. It involves overseeing 24x7 network monitoring, adhering to SOPs, and coordinating major incident responses. The position requires basic to intermediate IP/MPLS technical expertise and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities- Lead L1 teams in monitoring and handling IP/MPLS network incidents (Core, Aggregation, Access).
- Ensure accurate incident detection, ticket logging, prioritization, and timely restoration.
- Own escalation management for P1/P2 incidents and coordinate major incident troubleshooting.
- Maintain proactive and clear communication with internal stakeholders and customers during incidents.
- Oversee 24x7 monitoring of IP/MPLS networks using NMS and alarm monitoring tools.
- Track ongoing, intermittent, and recurring network issues, driving corrective actions.
- Ensure strict adherence to Incident Management, Communication, and Escalation SOPs.
- Guide and mentor L1 engineers on IP/MPLS fundamentals, alarm analysis, and SOPs.
You have:
- 6-10 years of experience with a B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/MCA degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- IP/MPLS Incident Management: Experience in leading incident detection, logging, prioritization, and resolution.
- Escalation Management: Ability to manage P1/P2 incidents and coordinate major incident response.
- Network Monitoring: Proficiency with NMS and alarm monitoring tools for 24x7 oversight.
- IP/MPLS Fundamentals: Basic to intermediate understanding of IP networking, MPLS architecture (L2VPN/L3VPN), OSPF, and BGP.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Team Leadership/Mentoring: Experience in guiding and mentoring junior engineers.
- Process Adherence: Strong understanding and application of Incident Management SOPs.
- Troubleshooting: Basic skills in analyzing IP/MPLS alarms, connectivity, and performance issues.
