About The Role
In this role, you will be focused on monitoring, managing and maintaining the Barry-Wehmiller global network. You'll work closely with engineering teams and with various vendors and partners (including hardware vendors, local IT support, Datacenter and network providers, and ISPs) to maintain and improve our global infrastructure. This role ensures the maximum uptime performance, and security of critical systems and services. This is a highly visible position that requires deep technical understanding of enterprise networks infrastructure, and basic experience with data analysis.
To be successful in this position, you should have excellent technical skills, communication skills, and be able to navigate a range of challenges and constraints (e.g. schedule adherence, time zones, and cultures).
Who You Are
You are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and excited to grow your career in a fast-paced, global infrastructure environment. You bring foundational knowledge of enterprise networks, datacenter environments, networking, and Linux systems, and are motivated to support mission-critical operations. You’re comfortable following established processes, working across time zones, and collaborating with global teams. You will be working with partners to support infrastructure to a number of remote locations. You will have had experience managing operational environments and used to developing new approaches to improve efficiency or operational stability.
Key Responsibilities:
o Provide Level 1/2 support for SD-WAN, LAN & Perimeter infrastructure across Cisco Meraki, Catalyst, Palo Alto & Fortinet environments.
o Monitor network health and performance using SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG & Meraki Dashboards
o Respond to network incidents and performance degradations, performing L1 troubleshooting across SD-WAN, LAN, WAN, VOIP, Perimeter and VPN environments.
o Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal network engineering teams for incident escalation and resolution.
o Troubleshoot and resolve incidents ensuring timely resolution.
o Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and operational runbooks.
o Participate in on-call rotations and provide 24x7 support coverage as part of the NOC operations model.
o Participate in scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and patching activities.
o Generate performance and availability reports and contribute to incident trend analysis and problem management reviews.
Technical Skills
· 3+ years of experience with event logging & network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Zabbix, PRTG & Splunk.
· Familiarity with SD-WAN solutions (Meraki, Viptela, Versa etc)
· 3+ years of experience with Meraki appliances (MX, MS)
· Deep understanding of the OSI model & Solid knowledge of TCP/IP
· Experience with packet captures and analysis with Wireshark.
· Key skills for L2 protocols are Spanning Tree modes PVST+, RSTP, LACP, 802.1q, VTP, VLAN, ARP & EtherChannel
· Key skills for L3 network protocols are EIGRP, OSPF & BGP
· Experience with IPSec, IPAM, DHCP, DNS and authentication such as Radius/TACACS.
· General networking and security troubleshooting (Firewalls, Load Balancers, Proxies, Routing & Switching)
· Experience with one of Cisco ASA, FTD, Palo Alto or Fortinet Firewalls.
· Basic Scripting and development skills with knowledge& understanding of regular expressions, APIs &webhooks.
· Familiarity with key events on common IT platforms
· Basic understanding of Microsoft technologies, e.g. AD, Windows Server, Hyper V, Exchange O365, SQL Server, Microsoft Dynamics, IIS, Azure and web hosting

Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory)
CCNP, ITIL, Fortinet, Palo Alto & Cloud Certifications
