Role: Network Operations Automation and Reporting Engineer

Position Type: Permanent
Location: Bangalore / Hyderabad (Work from office)

Shift Flexibility: Must be open to working in shifts

Role Overview

This role operates at the intersection of network operations, risk management, and compliance. While the primary focus is data analysis, tracking, and operational reporting, the position requires a practical, hands-on understanding of network infrastructure to evaluate risk, ensure compliance, and coordinate effectively with engineering teams.

Experience & Qualifications

Experience: 10–12 years of overall professional experience in technical analysis, network risk/compliance, operations analysis, or technical reporting.

Certifications: CCNA / CCNP preferred.

Domain Expertise: Practical understanding of enterprise networking environments, with exposure to Cisco/Arista/Juniper enterprise routing, switching, security/firewalls, and wireless systems.

Core Responsibilities

Manage and track daily operational, compliance, and risk issues from identification through to closure.

Prepare and publish daily status reports covering:

Open issues, backlog, and aging metrics

Progress updates and remediation efforts

Identified risks, blockers, and compliance gaps

Ensure all updates and compliance logs are accurate, structured, and ready for internal/external audit and executive review.

Perform data validation and reconciliation across multiple network, security, and asset management management tools.

Analyze network compliance issues using data correlation and structured troubleshooting methods.

Coordinate with core technical and engineering teams to drive timely resolution of risk items and vulnerabilities.

Maintain clear, consistent, and audit-ready documentation of findings, actions, and remediation paths.

Daily Reporting (Key Requirement – MUST HAVE)

Own the end-to-end daily reporting process for the network compliance and risk domain.

Generate automated/semi-automated reports using Excel and dashboards, including:

Real-time issue status and posture

SLA tracking and risk aging analysis

Daily and weekly trend analysis on recurring network risks or gaps

Ensure reporting meets strict standards:

Consistent: Standardized daily output and formatting.

Accurate: Zero data gaps or cross-source mismatches.

Actionable: Clear highlighting of critical risks, escalation paths, and priority items.

Communicate updates to stakeholders and leadership in a clear, concise, and professional format.

Technical & Networking Skills

Network Infrastructure & Risk Awareness (Hands-On Understanding)

Solid foundational understanding of network architecture, topology, protocols, and connectivity principles.

Practical experience working with or analyzing configuration/status data from Cisco network infrastructure:

Routers & Switches: Core/Access switches, routing fundamentals.

Firewalls: Rule analysis, perimeter defense visibility, policy compliance.

Wireless: Enterprise wireless access points, controllers, and policy enforcement.

Ability to interpret network logs, audit trails, and security alerts to identify non-compliant configurations or operational risks (Note: Position is analytical/compliance-driven, not a full-time network engineering position).

Data Analysis & Automation

Advanced Excel / Data Handling: Expert knowledge of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data modelling, array formulas, and structured formatting.

Scripting & Automation: Working knowledge of Python, PowerShell, or standard scripting tools to automate daily reporting, data extraction, and repetitive audit tasks.

Data Integration: Hands-on experience parsing, normalizing, and reconciling heterogeneous datasets, CSV exports, and API outputs from disparate network management and ticketing systems.

Soft Skills & Analytical Competencies

Analytical Skills

High capacity for identifying data inconsistencies across system reports and logically resolving root causes.

Structured problem-solving mindset capable of navigating incomplete, ambiguous, or conflicting data.

Focus on long-term root-cause analysis rather than surface-level status updates.

Automation & Process Improvement

Proactively identify repetitive operational or reporting tasks and implement automated workflows.

Build simple, resilient tools and scripts to enhance reporting speed, precision, and audit readiness.

Continuously refine compliance processes for speed, clarity, and scalability.

Soft Skills & Leadership

Strong ownership mindset—takes personal accountability for bringing issues to complete closure.

Proven ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment with tight daily reporting deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of explaining complex technical risk items to non-technical leadership.

Strong cross-functional coordination skills to work seamlessly across network engineering, cybersecurity, and audit teams.
