The Impact You’ll Make: Primary Focus:

You’ll be joining the Marketplace Operations team that focuses on marketplace health, optimization and communication. You’ll be part of the backbone of the company as we work to keep both our consumers and retailers happy by making sure the marketplace is always running and constantly improving.

Primary Focus:

  • Marketplace Health

    • Running daily investigations into marketplace diagnostic metrics to find, triage and resolve issues.

    • Conducting regular health checks on VIP and recently launched customers to ensure all the plumbing is working and their finding success

  • Marketplace Trends & KPIs

    • Reviewing dashboards and reporting to find and evaluate those things that “just don’t feel right”

    • Digging into those and investigating, tracking down and driving resolution of root cause of those anomalies

  • Marketplace Optimization Operations

    • Regular execution and tracking of optimization processes to help the marketplace perform at peak levels even as our mix of consumers and retailers change over time

Secondary Focus:

  • Working with outsourcing partners on joint tasks and associated hand offs

  • Contributing ideas for initiatives to improve the health of the marketplace and reducing the time and effort to do so

    • New reporting, automation, outsourcing, process changes etc.

  • Contributing ideas for marketplace experimentation

Competencies You Have:

To be successful in this role and on this team, we’re looking for someone who…

  • Is excited to get into the weeds and learn how our systems, teams and processes work

  • Has great attention to detail

  • Loves data and operational processes with an eye for constant improvement

  • Comes with a strong analytical skill set

  • Crushes the Google suite with a focus on the data side - sheets, pivot tables, etc.

  • Is interested in learning new tools and technologies

  • Has a best friend named ChatGPT that helps them learn new things, saves them a ton of time and is always there when they need them

  • Has a familiarity with Business Intelligence/reporting tools (e.g. Looker, Hex, PowerBI, Tableau), SQL, and databases with an excitement to learn more

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever changing environment

Location:

This hybrid role is required to work at one of our offices in either DC or Austin.. In-office attendance is required on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and may increase based on project-based needs and changes to Upside’s in-office policy over time.

Compensation:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000 - $95,000 + equity + benefits. The final starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
