The Role

Within our Database Administration team at Kyndryl, you'll be a master of managing and administering the backbone of our technological infrastructure. You'll be the architect of the system, shaping the base definition, structure, and documentation to ensure the long-term success of our business operations. 
Your expertise will be crucial in configuring, installing and maintaining database management systems, ensuring that our systems are always running at peak performance. You'll also be responsible for managing user access, implementing the highest standards of security to protect our valuable data from unauthorized access.
In addition, you'll be a disaster recovery guru, developing strong backup and recovery plans to ensure that our system is always protected in the event of a failure. Your technical acumen will be put to use, as you support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to our database systems.
As a key player on the team, you'll implement policies and procedures to safeguard our data from external threats. You will also conduct capacity planning and growth projections based on usage, ensuring that our system is always scalable to meet our business needs.
You'll be a strategic partner, working closely with various teams to coordinate systematic database project plans that align with our organizational goals. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, tune, and troubleshoot Oracle databases to provide high availability and reliability to the databases and applications running on them.
  • Administer Oracle databases running on RAC / GRID in environments.
  • Work with application teams, product teams and onshore DBA team to provision, maintain and tune Oracle databases.
  • Automate Manual Tasks.
  • Documentation of work (SOP)

Required Professional and Technical Expertise :

  • Minimum relevant working experience 3 years
  • Good knowledge of Oracle Database Architecture.
  • Proven working experience as a Database Administrator
  • Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications.
  • Support RAC, Standby , RMAN data backup, OEM and database recovery
  • Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
  • Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
  • Database Patch Management and Version Control
  • Good understanding of the underlying operating system AIX/Sun/Linux and Windows
  • Sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
  • Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required
  • Perform technical troubleshooting
  • Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation and shell/PLSQL scripting
  • Setup and maintain documentation as SOP
  • Coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Experience with performance tuning.
  • Experience with database backup, restoration, refresh using Recovery Manager (RMAN)
  • Experience with database, schema, table level refresh using data pump.
  • Experience with software Installation and Creation of 12c & 19c Databases on RAC and Non-RAC environments.
  • Hands on experience in RAC-Grid (Installation and upgradation)
  • Experience on database upgrades in stand alone and cluster environment
  • Experience with cross-platform database migrations.
  • Experience in working with Exadata machines and databases running on them.
  • Experience working with ASM storage.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c.
  • Experience in applying database, grid patches as per the organization policies.
  • Experience with design, set up and maintenance of data guard environments.
  • Experience in writing shell scripts will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Good Written and verbal communication
