Do you have a commercial and clerical education, and do you want to learn more and unfold your skills in a multinational engineering company? As Paralegal/Administrator you will join FLSmidth Cement’s Legal department. FLSmidth Cement has locations in countries all over the world. You will be based in Chennai.

Reporting into the Head of Legal, your role as Paralegal/legal Administrator will be to assist with day-to-day operations of our legal team (and inhouse compliance professionals). Your focus will be to ensure that the legal (compliance) team can operate efficiently and to carry out various administration tasks. Experience with Compliance is welcome, but not required, as long as you are prepared to acquire knowledge of in-house compliance functions related to sanctions and export control.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing workflow and day-to-day operations for our in-house legal team
  • Preparing simple documents (e.g. powers of attorney)
  • Providing support to the compliance team, and engaging collaboratively with requestors, distributors, and suppliers.
  • General administration duties for the legal department, including:
    • invoice processing
    • notarization of documents
    • generating reports
    • administrative corporate tasks
    • documentation and matter management
    • ordering of office supplies

You bring:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in any professional domain.
  • The candidate may possess a background in engineering or legal studies; this is not a strict requirement, as their role will not be exclusively centered on compliance work.
  • An interest and willingness to learn about and assist/help with compliance activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
