While our PI Managers focus on business value, you are responsible for keeping the platform healthy, setting the technical rules, and ensuring that any data models built by external consultants or internal IT teams are scalable, secure, and compliant.
Key Scope:
- Platform Health (Primary Focus): Serve as the technical owner responsible for the Celonis platform's uptime, performance, and compliance with Mondelez IT security standards.
- Setting the Rules: Define and enforce the technical guidelines for Data Integration and Object-Centric Data Models (OCDM). You ensure that developers follow best practices and create scalable solutions.
- Technical Oversight: Act as the technical reviewer for solutions built by Celonis Consultants and the MDS CoC & CoE teams. You provide guidance rather than building these yourself.
- CoE Support: Provide the technical documentation, access, and guidance that our PI Managers and Data Analysts need to easily consume the platform's data.
THE KEY EXPERIENCE FOR THE ROLE:
More about this role: We are seeking a highly skilled technical professional to serve as our Celonis Platform Engineer. This role focuses heavily on platform operations, data governance, and system health. You will bridge the gap between complex IT environments and our CoE, ensuring the Celonis platform is a reliable, fast, and secure tool for the business.
The incumbent MUST HAVE:
- Strong Celonis Technical Experience: 3-4+ years working hands-on within Celonis EMS, focusing on environment management, Data Integration, PQL, and platform administration.
- Core Process Knowledge: have a solid understanding of at least one core ERP process area (e.g., SAP STP, O2C, and underlying tables) to confidently review developers' work.
- Governance & Standards Mindset: Experience setting technical standards, writing documentation, and reviewing the work of other developers to ensure compliance.
- Technical Foundation: A strong grasp of SQL, basic data pipeline concepts, and an understanding of data privacy/security standards.
What extra ingredients you will bring (Key Responsibilities):
1. Platform Health & Operations
- Platform Health: Own the daily reliability of the platform. Monitor for system slowdowns, data extraction failures, or quality issues, and jump in to troubleshoot technical problems.
- Access & Security: Manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and ensure all Celonis solutions comply with enterprise data privacy (e.g., GDPR) and security policies.
2. Technical Standards & Guardrails
- Define the Playbook: Create and maintain the documentation that dictates how Celonis should be built at Mondelez (e.g., naming conventions, data model standards, OCDM guidelines).
- Quality Control: Review and approve the technical work delivered by external Celonis Consultants and internal IT teams to ensure they follow your guidelines and don't create technical debt.
3. User Support & Technical Guidance
- Enable the Team: Help PI Managers (Value Architects) and Analysts understand how to best query and consume the data models available in the platform.
- Targeted Hands-On Build: While your main job is maintaining the platform, you will occasionally support data integration or fix a critical bug when the team is blocked.
4. IT & Vendor Collaboration
- Partnership: Act as the main technical point of contact for Enterprise IT, Security teams, and Celonis Vendor Support to resolve underlying infrastructure or software issues.
What You Bring (Skills & Experience)
Functional/Technical Expertise:
- 5+ years of total IT experience in Data Engineering, BI Administration, or Systems Integration.
- 3-4+ years of experience specifically managing or developing within the Celonis EMS platform.
- Process Knowledge: Practical understanding of standard SAP ERP tables in at least one core process area (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, etc.).
- Technical Stack: Advanced SQL, comfortable with standard API integrations, and strong troubleshooting skills.
Professional Skills:
- Constructive Pushback: The ability to review someone else's code/model and comfortably say "no" if it violates platform standards, guiding them to the right solution.
- Clear Communication: Ability to explain technical platform issues to non-technical PI Managers and business stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: A methodical approach to debugging broken data pipelines or system performance issues.
Competencies/Abilities:
- Reliability Over Speed: You care more about the system running flawlessly every day than rushing a poorly built solution into production.
- Process-Oriented: You naturally document your work and build standard operating procedures (SOPs) so manual tasks can be avoided in the future.
Education Level:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Certifications: Celonis Data Engineer or equivalent technical certifications are highly preferred.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE: Will report to the Process Intelligence & Celonis CoE Lead.
