Platform Manager (Cloud & DevOps)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Platform Manager to lead the design, implementation, and governance of cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role involves managing platform engineering teams, driving automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ensuring reliable CI/CD delivery pipelines, and supporting application development teams across environments.
The ideal candidate will combine technical depth in GCP and DevOps with strong leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic planning capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Strategy & Leadership

Define and drive the platform engineering strategy aligned with organizational goals.

Lead and mentor a team of DevOps and Cloud Engineers, ensuring high productivity and technical excellence.

Collaborate with onsite leads, architects, and stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and execute platform initiatives.

Promote best practices in cloud architecture, security, scalability, and reliability.
Cloud Infrastructure Management (GCP)
-
Oversee deployment and management of applications across GCP environments (Dev, Test, UAT, Pre-Prod, Prod).

Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of the GCP platform.

Govern the adoption and optimization of GCP services including: GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, Spanner, BigQuery, Bigtable, Artifact Registry, Pub/Sub, Memorystore, Load Balancers, Cloud DNS, Cloud Armor
DevOps & Automation

Drive adoption and governance of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for all environments

Optimize overall infrastructure provisioning processes.

Oversee implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins.
-
Ensure code quality standards using tools such as SonarQube.

Standardize automation practices across teams including Docker-based containerization.
Operational Excellence

Establish processes for monitoring, logging, and incident management using tools like Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and Dynatrace.

Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex platform and infrastructure issues.
-
Ensure compliance with security, IAM, and governance policies.
Team Collaboration & Support

Provide platform and CI/CD support to frontend and backend development teams.

Act as an escalation point for technical issues related to GCP and CI/CD pipelines.

Drive collaboration using tools such as Mattermost, Teams, JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket.
Agile & Delivery Management

Participate in and lead Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
-
Track progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of platform initiatives.

Maintain and improve technical documentation and knowledge repositories.
Continuous Improvement

Stay up to date with latest GCP features, DevOps tools, and industry trends.
-
Identify opportunities for cost optimization, performance tuning, and automation.
-
Drive innovation in microservices architecture and cloud-native solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
-
10+ years of experience in cloud/platform engineering, with at least 4–5 years in a leadership role.

Minimum 3+ years of hands-on GCP experience.

Strong experience with:

Terraform (IaC)
-
Docker & containerization
-
CI/CD tools (Jenkins, SonarQube)

Scripting (Bash/Shell, Groovy)

Deep understanding of:

GCP services and architecture
-
Networking (VPC, VPN, Interconnect)

Security, IAM, and governance
-
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer).

Experience with:

Apigee API management

Microservices architecture

Hybrid cloud (On-Prem + GCP) environments

Familiarity with build tools such as NPM and Gradle.

Exposure to Akamai integration.

Experience with observability tools like Dynatrace.
