Mission statement:

Design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. Based on technical specification from end customers and inputs from OU Engineering team, prepare Protection & Principle SLD, Schematics, Power supply scheme, Substation layouts – plan & sections, Standard technical specifications for major equipment, R&D activities to improve the work process, Comparison between AIS, GIS & PASS solution, Cost comparison between different solutions, Bill of materials, RFQs, vetting of vendor offers, engg hours estimation, technical risk assessment and opportunity evaluation etc .Coordinate with Engineering Manager, Engineering Leads, Tendering team, Product Manager, Project Managers, SCM, Secondary and civil / steel design functions, consultants, end customers etc. and provide required support in each Project / Tender & development activity.

Primary Design Engineer – R and D Team

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Design authority for all engineering activities for assignments on projects classified as Low and Medium engineering complexity. Support Project Manager for any technical issues.
  • SPOC with customer for Engineering activities of the project. Participate in customer meetings, act on customer needs, expectations and improve customer experience.
  • Lead, supervise and coordinate engineering project team: scope, schedule & progress, approvals, budget, targets, resource load & cost-to-complete [Engineering Meetings / Engineering Review]. Ensure Engineering processes are applied and if needed agree on scaling with Engineering Manager.
  • Conduct Engineering Project Reviews and report progress and cost-to-complete to Engineering- and Project Manager and establishes contacts with suppliers for technical support, to improve material quality and/or to decrease costs. Technical Obtains prototype product and develops technical tests. Ensure the deliveries as per schedule and carry out regular reviews  
  • Having Primary / Secondary design expertise and able to deliver transmission and distribution projects and preparing standards and focus on continuous improvements both technically and functionally
  • Check if quality process is applied by all contributing engineering parties. Escalate to QA/QC. and track and handle technical issues and follow up. Handle clarification where more than one domain/function/party is concerned plus those topics that cannot be allocated to an engineering domain. Initiate mitigation of possible responsibility gaps in the project team.
  • Coach and develop project engineers / designers to deliver their maximum potential, plan the skill development needs for the engineers

Primary Design Engineer – FACTS team

Your Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of PQS Plant Layout (Yard Arrangement – Layout & Plan, Electrical HV / EHV Clearance Check.
  • Preparation of Civil Task (Civil input) Drawings (Foundation, Conduit, Trench, and other civil Requirements).
  • Preparation of Civil Conceptual Design.
  • Preparation of PQS Control Building Layout (Electrical Cubicles, Thyristors, Pump skid Arrangement)
  • Preparation of Cable Trench & Conduit Layout.
  • Preparation of Grounding & Lightning Protection Calculations and Layouts.
  • Preparation of Section Drawings / Erection Key Diagrams (Detailed Installation & Erection Drgs of PQS Plant).
  • Preparation of Detailed Steel Drawings (For Manufacturing / Procurement & Installation).
  • Preparation of Installation Drawings (Grounding Connections & Electrical Connections).
  • Preparation of Busbar system data, Ampacity, cantilever & Magnetic Field Calculations.
  • Preparation of Civil Foundation Load Calculations (Load input to Civil Design).
  • Steel Design Calculations (Member Size, Foundation Bolt).
  • Heat & Ventilation System Data Preparation (Input to HVAC design).
  • Review of Equipment Drgs (Reactor, Capacitor, SA, LA, CT, PT, CB, Isolator, WB / Insulator, Cubicle, Cooling Skid etc.,)

Primary Design Engineer – PQS Team

Your Responsibilities:

  • Primary Engineering Deliverables. Experience in handling complete Engineering deliverables for AIS & GIS projects, Exposure to International experience & Standards IEC, IEEE & AS.
  • Substation layouts and section drawings, Grounding system drawings, Lightning system design, drawings, Cable routings, Cable tray routings, Clearance drawings,etc
  • Understanding of auxiliary design aspects of substations, such as LVAC / LVDC supplies, Cable sizing, Battery &Battery Charger Sizing,  etc
  • Technical data sheets verification of primary equipment. Knowledge of primary equipment, such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc

Your Background:

  • Education Qualification: Bachelors Engineering in Electrical.
  • Candidate should have 2 to 12 years exp in substation tendering and project engineering activities (technical & commercial).
  • Should have proficiency in required CAD design tools (BIM Tools, BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation / AutoCAD, AutoCAD REVIT, 3D competence)
  • Must have knowledge of relevant international standards ex. IEEE, IEC,etc.
  • Individual contributor using in-depth knowledge in a specific area to execute complex or specialized projects / challenges often thinking independently to challenge traditional solutions.
  • Excellent English speaker, good communication skills.
  • Team Player, ready to play the role across the different countries.
  • Dynamic & Proactive, willing to grow in the organization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
