Our Digital Team partners with business units and clients to develop software and technical innovation. We collaborate with our development teams in science, mechanical and electrical engineering, physics, and geoscience to develop innovative software.

Partner with the best

Principal Enterprise Architect works on highly complex projects that require in-depth domain knowledge or two or more specialized architecture areas. They are responsible for driving the design and development efforts related to architecture, scalability, availability, and performance alignment with the product roadmap. The Architect may interact w/ functional leaders to support broad technical initiatives. It includes liaising with other functions across Baker Hughes, as well as engagement with suppliers and some engagement with external customers.

As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for

  • Conducting architectural evaluation, design, and analysis of organization-wide systems throughout OFS Digital
  • Identifying customer’s nonfunctional requirements, analyzing alternatives, and conducting product recommendations related to software, platform, and deployment configurations.
  • Facilitating Architecture and Security reviews
  • Ensuring application architecture team delivers robust system solutions to meet business and Security and Compliance requirements.
  • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining established service design procedures and processes
  • Working closely with Enterprise Architect within Portfolio Architect team to assure constant compliance of strategic road map and architecture.
  • Performing as member of high-performance architecture team supporting business-oriented project development effort
  • Preparing and presenting technical presentations, lab reports, analyst briefings, and/or white papers to respond to different requirements from production lines and organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborating with software development teams to ensure that architectural solutions can be successfully implemented.
  • Monitoring configuration management, platform layout, and hosting infrastructure.
  • Automating deployment of applications and infrastructure
  • Communicating effectively and proactively at all levels with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders and clients to develop and implement solutions.
  • Understanding market trends in the broader energy sector and report relevant customer feedback to the Product team to inform development roadmaps.
  • Supporting the conversion of requirements into user stories for the software development team to consume in our agile software development process.
  • Be able to work independently and in a team, environment managing a range of customers and technical situations.
  • Designing solutions with increasing complexity and scale, from simple environments to complex multi-site enterprises.
  • Identifying and escalating business and technical opportunities as appropriate.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have Bachelor’s degree in computer science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)  
  • Have 10+ years of architecture experience in a complex and multi-platform distributed environment.
  • Have experience in managing a team of architects
  • Have experience in implementing and operating real time applications and acquisition systems.
  • Have exceptional technical aptitude and communications skills
  • Have basic understanding about project planning / budgeting
  • Demonstrating success in bringing complex projects to completion and coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
