We are looking for a Principal Operational Excellence Analyst to join our IP Ops Enablement team in Chennai, reporting to the Senior Manager Operational Excellence.

This position will be part of our OpEx team, today comprising eight colleagues. Our mission is to support IP Operations teams in the identification of process improvement opportunities, and in the implementation of impactful solutions. To do this, we promote and use fundamental principles of ‘loss reduction’, PDCA, as well as the Lean Six Sigma approach and related methodologies.

While we steadily embed the CI culture through training and colleague involvement, we also partnership with the operational teams on key improvement projects, either through direct contribution, coaching, or project lead, to deliver effective, efficient and sustainable solutions.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments  

Success in this position is reliant on driving engagement with your IP Operations stakeholders, with a passion for learning, process improvement. To deliver impactful business solutions, you will need to create an open environment which fosters collaboration and stays focused on data driven facts which guide the outcome. You will need to be a great communicator, able to work with stakeholders across all levels of the business, explaining complex concepts or business issues in a simple and clear manner.

Required experience and skills:

  • Minimum 5 years business experience in a similar role, e.g. with quality management systems, processes and tools, project management, lean/6Sigma, operational excellence.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change within a business context.
  • Experience of delivering structured improvement projects, evidencing value and impact for the organization.
  • Action-oriented team player who is able to collaborate and influence at all levels.
  • Relevant Bachelor or similar qualification.
  • Good understanding of:
    • Project management practices
    • Data and reporting tools

It would be great if you also had . . .  

  • Good understanding of IP division, and it’s operational services
  • Teaching and coaching experience
  • Project management understanding in technology development.

What will you be doing in this role? 

You will act as primary Point of Contact, the ‘go-to’ expert, for your designated group of teams within IP Operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with key Operation’s team stakeholders, to plan and deliver continuous improvement targets in line with the strategic objectives.
  • Together with Operations, challenge the current state, drive process improvement initiatives, applying creative thinking.
  • Provide project coaching for Operation’s stakeholders, building their teams skillsets and competencies.
  • Champion the Continuous Improvement mindset with our Operations teams, as a role model, through effective communication.
  • Participate in the delivery of wide-ranging Operational Excellence training.
  • Establish, maintain, and further develop a network of ‘Continuous Improvement Enthusiasts / Experts’ across the Operations teams.
  • Support the implementation, further development, and use of operational metrics and Operational Excellence principles, to enable reliable decision making and targeted improvement.
  • Manage complex improvement projects, from start to finish, generating sustainable benefits.
