Your impact
Intelsat is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to help us expand into the realm of software defined satellites! You will be the foundational member of an innovative full stack development team working to build and support monitoring solutions for our growing satellite fleet. This will include supporting/extending existing tools/UI as well as developing greenfield solutions for our upcoming satellites.
What you will do
- Develop solutions to integrate new solutions with existing platforms.
- Respond to customer requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Heads up execution - Provide accurate work estimates, meet deadlines, and understand project methodology.
- Collaborate with multiple development teams and architects to ensure alignment of vision and delivery.
Your required experience/skills
- 5+ years of experience in .NET, JavaScript, Python, & C#
- Experience with backend development and Windows Services
- Experience with RESTful API's
- Experience with JSON and XML
- Experience with integrations with Oracle and/or SQL back-end databases
- Strong troubleshooting/issue resolution skills
- Experience/familiarity with orchestration and automation
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

It would be nice if you had:
- Experience with Kafka or other message bus systems
- Experience with satellite or telecommunications environments
- Familiarity with monitoring and performance technologies, particularly IBM/SevOne
- Cloud experience (private or public Azure/AWS)
