The Print Designer creates production design deliverables, prepares print files, collaborates with teams, and follows design trends while ensuring quality assurance.

We’re looking for an inspired, motivated, and experienced Print Designer who is responsible for the execution of production design deliverables. These deliverables include print layout refreshments and templates, composes vendor-ready files and advanced mechanicals for printed pieces with minimum supervision of a lead. The Production Designer works with a larger team and is capable of handling complex print production projects efficiently under minimum supervision.
In this role, you will
- Composes advanced mechanicals (Ready to Print files) for 4+ color ads, brochures, collateral materials, etc.
- Prepares all files for submission to print vendors (pre-press)
- Manipulates photo work such as silhouetting, light retouching and background extension.
- Works closely with development Seniors and Leads to ensure that design specifications are implemented.
- Produces and helps supervise the production of high-end print deliverables that meet client and industry standards. These deliverables include (but are not limited to) layout skinning, layout production, red lines, image asset creation, image optimization, image resizes & cropping, photo-retouching & photomontage, printed materials, presentations and visual guidelines creation.
- Stays up to date with the latest design trends, systems, tools, technologies and platforms, while fostering excellence, learning and a collaborative environment among team members.
- Communicates effectively with production design team members, project managers and production design leads Provides excellent quality assurance on all of his/her deliverables.
What are we looking for? Besides a great attitude,
You should have:
- 2+ yrs. experience in advertising agencies, digital agencies, magazines, newspapers, design agencies, and/or startups.
- Experience supervising and/or participating in production design for print, visual communication, and/or digital design.
- Experience creating assets for digital/print products.
- Experience building die lines for print.
- Understanding of marketing and advertising concepts.
- Understanding of design principles, trends, systems and structures.
- Extensive knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Strong layout and typographical skills and knowledge of fonts
- Understanding of productivity and remote collaboration tools: MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Jira, Trello, Slack, Zoom, Acrobat, Drive, Box, Paper, Evernote.
- Solid understanding of UX principles, trends, and theory.
- Solid understanding of interactivity and animation principles and best practices.
- A strong design portfolio, including pieces for international clients.
It’s a plus if you have:
- Basic foreign language knowledge.
- Work experience with international clients.
- Understanding of interactivity, animation principles and best practices.
- Understanding of digital marketing, digital production and online advertising.
- Strong knowledge of Keynote, PowerPoint, After Effects and Adobe Animate.
- Strong knowledge of productivity tools: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of remote collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, Drive, Box, Paper, Evernote) and workflow management tools (Jira, Trello, Asana, Basecamp).
- Strong portfolio
- Familiarity with the Automotive Industry is a plus.
