About Amini

Amini is building the sovereign, AI-native distributed infrastructure stack for the Global South, giving governments and enterprises the data, compute, and connectivity they need to own and govern their digital future, rather than depend on outside platforms. We already work with governments across the southern hemisphere, and our work has been recognised by TIME100 AI, MIT Solve, and the World Economic Forum. We help our partners and customers put AI to work in ways that drive real growth, and make sure that opportunity is shared more equally across the Global South.

Our core values, Collaboration, Trust, Integrity, Humility, and Passion, are at the heart of everything we do. In practice, that means defaulting to sharing credit and information openly, being honest about what we don't yet know, and choosing to admit a mistake early rather than protect an ego.

Our team is small, highly skilled, and non-hierarchical. We recognise the transformational nature of our work, but we stay humble and ego-free about it. We believe in fully using our skills and experience, sharing ideas openly, and making a collective impact, one we intend to grow from the governments and communities we already work with today into a much broader influence on the AI industry and lives across the Global South. This means building the organisational muscle to deploy across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously. The Product Apps Lead is a pivotal hire in that transformation.

Product Lead, Apps

As Product Lead, Apps you will be the voice of the customer, from first concept to global launch. You will shape product direction, surface new opportunities, and help bring features to life that governments and citizens across the Global South use every day. You will develop and apply insights to infuse innovative, AI-enabled capabilities into Amini's product-development process.

At Amini, we combine product management and product marketing responsibilities into a single, cross-functional Product Apps Lead role. You will own strategy, development, and go-to-market, collaborating with design, engineering, finance, legal, marketing, BD and customer success. This breadth gives you real influence at every stage of the product lifecycle.

You will own the application layer of the Amini stack, taking our products from early-stage deployments to production-grade, scalable maturity across multiple sovereign jurisdictions. This is both a hands-on product leadership role and a strategic seat at the table as Amini scales its operating model.

You will work at the intersection of government requirements, sovereign compliance constraints and fast-moving technical delivery, translating ambiguous market needs into concrete product roadmaps and shipping outcomes that directly enable Amini's expansion into new markets.

Responsibilities

Product Ownership and Roadmap

  • Identify opportunities by studying competitors, market trends, and real user and government needs, bringing the voice of the customer into every product decision
  • Own end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for the Amini application suite
  • Drive each product from current stage to production-grade, scalable deployments across multiple countries
  • Develop and maintain a prioritised backlog aligned to government / corporate contract requirements and Amini's priorities
  • Define success metrics, goals and performance dashboards for the apps portfolio; report progress to leadership weekly

Go-to-Market & Positioning

  • Define clear, compelling positioning that sets Amini's apps apart, for both technical government buyers and end users
  • Partner with the Business Development team to translate government requirements into product capabilities and commercial positioning
  • Partner with marketing and business development to deliver cohesive launches across web, documentation, press and in-country events
  • Build the product playbook that enables contract to live in under 30 days, from one country to multiple
  • Formulate product messaging and create outbound marketing materials for both technical and non-technical audiences

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing product team across the apps portfolio
  • Establish clear decision authority, ways of working and accountability structures within the product function
  • Lead through influence, storytelling and healthy debate, across engineering, ops, commercial and government stakeholder teams
  • Mentor team members and support their development; eliminate single points of failure in the product function
  • Contribute to Amini's broader org transformation, moving from heroic individual effort to scalable, distributed execution

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Partner with Engineering to ship reliable, secure and compliant features on a cadence that matches market demand
  • Work closely with Customer Ops and Customer Success to ensure products are deployable, supportable and configurable per jurisdiction
  • Engage directly with customers during deployment, building trust and translating feedback into the roadmap
  • Collaborate to ensure products meet residency, compliance and interoperability requirements
  • Act as product representative across Customer Support, Ops, Legal and Corporate Development

Engineering & Design Partnership

  • Partner with engineering and design as a product champion, providing clear direction on planning, architecture trade-offs and future features
  • Navigate trade-offs between scope, schedule and quality to ship products that governments and citizens love to use
  • Collaborate with collegues to ensure products meet residency, compliance and interoperability requirements
  • Lead early research and development alongside engineering to define product strategy before a line of code is written

What you will have

Essential

  • 7+ years in application product management or product leadership, with at least 3 years in a senior / lead role

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
