The QA Automation Engineer will design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, ensure software quality, and collaborate with teams on test strategies.
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks that ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with developers and other stakeholders to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Selenium and Playwright across web and application layers.
- Write clean, maintainable test scripts in Python and JavaScript.
- Perform thorough API testing to validate integrations, data contracts, and service behaviour.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast feedback on code changes.
- Support and maintain build and deployment processes, with experience in Jenkins considered a strong advantage.
- Manage test code using version control, following branching strategies and code review best practices.
- Identify, document, and track defects with a high level of precision and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality standards.
- Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, tools, and coverage.
Experience
- Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer or similar role.
- Strong programming ability in Python and JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium for browser automation.
- Experience with Playwright for end-to-end testing.
- Solid understanding of API testing principles and tools
- Experience working within CI/CD environments and integrating tests into automated pipelines.
- Proficiency with version control systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a quality-first mindset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus Points
- Experience with Jenkins for build automation and pipeline management.
- Familiarity with containerisation tools such as Docker.
- Experience with performance or load testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of agile/scrum development methodologies.
