Job Description Summary

This role is responsible for comprehensive quantity surveying, cost management, and billing functions across Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV systems under Cushman & Wakefield’s PDS and Cost Consultancy scope. The role involves detailed quantity estimation, cost verification, contractor bill certification, and tracking of MEP progress against project budgets. The candidate will coordinate with site teams, design consultants, and contractors to validate executed works, monitor variations, and support value engineering and cost optimization. This position ensures financial transparency, compliance with technical and contractual requirements, and timely submission of accurate cost reports throughout all stages of project execution.

Job Description

About the Role:

  • Prepares detailed MEP quantity take-offs and cost estimates from approved design and construction drawings.
  • Validates contractor and vendor bills for MEP services including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Reviews work progress and align physical achievements with the approved budget and billing milestones.
  • Coordinates with MEP engineers and site teams to verify quantities, measurements, and installed works prior to certification.
  • Assists in evaluating variation claims, change orders, and cost impacts due to design modifications or scope adjustments.
  • Ensures cost control and financial compliance with project budgets, investor protocols, and statutory requirements.
  • Prepares and updates MEP cost reports, progress summaries, and MIS trackers for management and client review.
  • Reviews material submittals, equipment procurement schedules, and validates cost impact for long-lead items.
  • Supports value engineering by analysing MEP alternatives for cost efficiency without compromising performance or quality.
  • Coordinates with civil and finishes QS to ensure integrated cost reporting and overall project financial accuracy.
  • Assists in project close-out, reconciliation of MEP quantities, and preparation of final account documentation.
  • Prepares detailed MEP quantity take-offs and cost estimates from approved design and construction drawings.

About You:

  • Diploma/ B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  •  8 to 12 years & above of relevant experience in MEP quantity surveying, billing, and cost management for base-build or infrastructure projects
  • Should have handled at least 3-5 large-scale commercial, residential, or industrial projects covering full MEP scope (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV)
  • Experience with Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or Cost Consultancy preferred
  • Strong technical and commercial knowledge of MEP systems, BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and contract administration
  • Proficiency in measurement verification, variation assessment, and cost tracking aligned with project budgets
  •  Excellent analytical, documentation, and coordination skills with strong attention to accuracy and detail
  •  Effective communication, stakeholder coordination, and teamwork abilities
