Quality Engineer – Payments Domain

Job Title: Quality Engineer – TCS BaNCS Payments Upgrade

Experience Required: 3–5 years of experience in software testing, with strong domain expertise in payment systems and a deep understanding of critical payment rails to ensure Seamless Migration Assurance and end-to-end Quality Intelligence. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed test cases based on functional and technical specifications.
• Perform manual testing to validate system behavior across multiple payment rails.
• Collaborate with automation teams to identify test cases suitable for automation.
• Provide inputs for automation scripts and frameworks.
• Validate the upgrade from BaNCS v10 to v14 ensuring zero disruption in payment flows.
• Conduct end-to-end testing across integrated systems and interfaces.
• Log, track, and verify defects using standard tools.
• Work closely with developers and business analysts for timely resolutions. 
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
• Provide insights and recommendations for improving test coverage and efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in software testing, with strong understanding of critical payment rails: SWIFT, SAMOS, CBPR+, SADC, FX.
• Experience in manual testing and test case design.
• Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with TCS BaNCS Payments module.
• Knowledge of cross-border payments, real-time gross settlement systems, and foreign exchange workflows.
• Proficiency in defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM).
• Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and migration testing methodologies.
