Job Description:

R&D Staff Engineer SW Quality: Demonstrate Strong technical Knowledge for testing & validating complex issues for SAN switches which use Fiber Channel (FCP/FICON) and IP protocols for transport.

Primary responsibility includes:

  • Review the functional specs, test specs created by Cross-site Dev & Test team to understand the product/feature functionality

  • Review User Documentation to ensure all the features/product functionality and Known issues are documented

  • Creation and review of test strategies, test designs, Test cases, and Test Automation Suites

  • Mentor the junior test engineers and provide technical guidance to them to build a high performing team

  • Establish cross-functional relationships to improve the testability of products

  • Interactions with customers for demos, test qualifications, and feedback sessions

Requirements (Must Have):

  • Bachelor of Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on test experience

  • Strong knowledge of various types of testing, such as functional, negative, boundary, performance, scale, longevity testing, etc

  • SAN/Storage knowledge

  • System testing in Linux/Open source environment

  • Test automation experience using Python

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, parallel tasks and projects

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Highly Desired:

  • Automation development (Python)

  • SAN protocol knowledge (Fiber Channel, FCIP, FICON)

  • Networking protocol knowledge (L2/L3/L4)
