About the role

Risk lead

Join AGL’s Risk & Assurance team as a trusted business partner, enabling the Customer Markets business unit to optimize performance and enhance resilience. As Risk Lead, you’ll be part of a centralized Line 1 team and a subject matter expert in effective risk management, responsible for the oversight and monitoring of risk management activities across Customer Markets, applying a collaborative, practical and pragmatic approach in line with enterprise frameworks. This role is outcomes focused, and key to providing meaningful insights and operational risk reporting to senior stakeholders, whilst also supporting the ongoing improvement of risk maturity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a strong risk culture through training, guidance, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify, assess, monitor and manage operational and compliance risks in line with the Customer Markets risk framework.

  • Prepare insightful and actionable risk reports, providing recommendations to improve commercial, operational, and customer outcomes.

  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators (KRIs), emerging risks, and ensure accurate risk documentation and data quality.

  • Track and support the implementation of risk treatment plans, contributing to the ongoing improvement of the risk profile.

About you

  • Tenured experience in operational risk management, compliance, or audit within complex and/or highly regulated environments.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify key risks, analyse trends, and recommend effective controls.

  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to prepare insightful risk reports and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation, registers, and risk data management.

  • Proficiency with GRC systems and data tools, and a working knowledge of ISO 31000 or relevant risk management certifications is highly regarded
