Job Description

SUMMARY:  Manages major aspects of the corporation’s internal and external financial reporting process. Lead process for Monthly and Quarterly Forecasting, Annual Budgeting and Long term planning. Business Partner to drive Revenue and EBIT goals. Understand and drive factors to improve EVA. May manage professional staff. 

REPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES:  Activities and duties will vary dependent upon the functional area assigned.  Activities may include, but are not limited to:

Operations

  • Manage closing, financial controls, compliance, forecasting, budgeting and process and project improvements.

  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing and Business Development team to drive organisation revenue and margin goals. 

  • Oversee the efficient operation and cost-effectiveness of operating systems and programs. 

  • Manage the planning and coordination of the preparation and distribution of financial management reports. 

  • Ensure that all reports and disclosures comply with applicable regulations, professional standards, and organization policies.

  • Ensure all tasks are assigned and performed on time. Prioritize time to focus on the biggest issues. 

  • Demonstrate and inspire integrity. Anticipate questions, issues and challenges from management, external audit, etc. Avoid financial surprises.  Anticipate questions and challenges. Stay current with requirements. Keep management informed of any issues or gaps.

  • Focus on complex planning issues around the Annual Operating Plan.  Provide recommendations to management.

  • Lead planning for the Strategic Plan.  

  • Monitor or conduct ongoing analyses of potential and current investments, acquisitions, divestitures, and other investments.

  • Manage the preparation of all reports related to new business opportunities; analyze significant variances from planned or forecasted results and provide interpretative comments and recommendations to senior management. 

  • Analyze product pricing to determine profitability; recommend adjustments.

  • Work closely with the Business and Operations team to understand the business reasons for variances and drive an action plan for the mitigation and achievement of financial deliverables. 

 

Employee Development & Management

  • Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.

  • Act as a team role model and change agent.

  • Coordinate team efforts, and create and manage a regional strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance or related field.

  • Chartered Accountant.

  • 8+ years of finance or related experience.

  • Excellent maths, statistical and analytical skills.  

  • Excellent Excel, Macro skills and Business Modeling. Well conversant with MS Office / G- Suite. Experience in Hyperion is added advantage.

  • Conversant with applicable Tax, Laws and Industry knowledge. 

  • Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills.

  • Finance Black Belt:  Ideally has Green Belt and finance/accounting specific certifications depending upon expertise (CIA, Tax, SCM)

  • Manufacturing experience is preferred
