Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Edits new and existing applications. Implements, testing and debugging defined software components. Documents all development activity. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Job Description

Position: Development Engineer 2

Experience: 2.5 years to 4.5 years

Job Location: Chennai Tamil Nadu

Technical Skills: Salesforce Core, LWC, Vlocity or CPQ, Salesforce Integrations, Experience / Sales / Marketing Cloud. 

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
    • Experience with Salesforce development, including Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components.
    • Experience with Vlocity and OmniStudio tools and industry-specific cloud software.
    • Strong understanding of Salesforce Lightning and Apex.
    • Proven ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with Salesforce integration techniques, including REST and SOAP APIs.
    • Knowledge of Salesforce Public Sector Foundations and OmniStudio components (OmniScript, DataRaptor, FlexCards).
    • Familiarity with Salesforce Core and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
    • Ability to work in an agile environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Custom Application Development:

    • Design and develop custom applications using Salesforce Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
    • Implement industry-specific solutions using Vlocity tools and OmniStudio components.
    • Develop and maintain Salesforce Core applications, ensuring seamless integration with other systems.

    Database Management:

    • Design and manage Salesforce data models, ensuring data integrity and quality.
    • Write complex SOQL queries and implement data validation rules and workflows.

    Integration with Third-Party Services:

    • Build and maintain integrations using REST and SOAP APIs to connect Salesforce with external systems.
    • Implement middleware solutions for complex integrations and ensure data synchronization.

    System Configuration:

    • Configure Salesforce settings and features to align with business processes.
    • Create and manage user roles and permissions, set up workflows, approval processes, and validation rules.

    Troubleshooting and Support:

    • Act as the first line of defense for Salesforce issues, troubleshoot problems, debug code, and provide ongoing support.
    • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

    Documentation and Training:

    • Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, application configuration, and help-related materials.
    • Provide technical support and user training to Salesforce end-users.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Analyzes and determines integration needs.
    • Evaluates and plans software designs, test results and technical manuals.
    • Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
    • Programs new software, web applications and supports new applications under development and the customization of current applications.
    • Edits and reviews technical requirements documentation.
    • Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
    • Displays knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
    • Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills.
    • Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
    • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
    • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
