This is an extremely hands-on role, designed for an individual contributor who thrives on building, configuring, integrating, and optimizing SAP FPSL solutions while driving product leadership in Finance Technology. The ideal candidate brings direct, practical experience from the payments or banking industry, having worked end-to-end on financial systems that require precision, compliance, and innovation.
This role requires an expert who can seamlessly transition between strategic product leadership and technical execution: configuring SAP FPSL, writing and optimizing Python scripts, building ETL pipelines, managing large-scale data processing, and leveraging AI to improve financial operations. The Senior SAP FPSL Lead / Product Manager will serve as a trusted hands-on expert across Finance Technology, capable of engaging deeply with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and compliance partners. The right candidate is highly self-driven, able to hit the ground running, and passionate about solving complex finance technology problems in a high-stakes, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
SAP FPSL Expertise: Design, implement, and optimize SAP FPSL configurations, ensuring alignment with financial reporting, payments, and compliance requirements.
Hands-On Technical Execution: Write Python scripts, build ETL jobs, process structured/unstructured financial data, and integrate SAP FPSL with multiple applications and platforms.
AI & Data Innovation: Apply AI/ML techniques to financial data sets, enhancing automation, reconciliation, and forecasting capabilities within SAP FPSL environments.
Industry Alignment: Leverage payments and banking industry expertise to shape requirements, anticipate challenges, and design fit-for-purpose financial technology solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, product, risk, and compliance stakeholders to ensure FPSL solutions meet regulatory, operational, and performance standards.
Governance & Compliance: Ensure that SAP FPSL implementations and related integrations comply with SOX and other regulatory requirements, embedding traceability and audit readiness into all deliverables.
Operational Excellence: Lead initiatives to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability of FPSL and related systems, ensuring high availability and resilience.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in Finance Technology, with extensive hands-on expertise in SAP FPSL (design, implementation, and integration).
Proven track record in payments or banking industries, with direct experience delivering regulated financial systems.
Strong technical skills: Python, data processing frameworks, ETL tools, SQL, APIs, and large-scale system integration.
Experience applying AI/ML techniques to financial data within SAP FPSL or similar environments.
Ability to function as a highly skilled individual contributor, while also driving product direction and influencing cross-functional teams.
Deep understanding of compliance frameworks (SOX, audit readiness) and ability to embed them into system design and delivery.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and execution skills, with the ability to work independently and deliver results under tight deadlines.
