About the role

As a Senior Analyst within the Commercial Planning & Insights team, you will play a key role in shaping sales and pricing strategy across AGL’s residential and SME segments. Leveraging data and analytics, you’ll generate insights that enhance commercial performance, optimise customer experience, and support market growth.

You’ll analyse customer behaviour, market trends, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions, while monitoring key sales metrics and daily performance. Working with complex datasets, you’ll translate insights into actionable recommendations, helping to drive competitive, data-led commercial outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drive Commercial Insights: Generate hypotheses and deliver data-driven insights on sales, pricing, and overall commercial performance to inform strategic decisions.

  • Advanced Data Analysis & Storytelling: Analyse complex datasets and translate findings into clear, compelling insights through visualisation and storytelling.

  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track key metrics through weekly reporting and executive-level updates, identifying trends in sales, churn, and growth opportunities.

  • Market & Customer Intelligence: Analyse market dynamics, competitor activity, and customer segments (residential & SME) to uncover opportunities and shape strategy.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Impact: Partner cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, and pricing teams to influence outcomes and continuously improve data quality and performance measurement.

About you:

  • Previous demonstrated experience as an Analyst or working within a customer insights or consulting role, preferably within the energy or utilities sectors.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and visualisation tools (i.e. SQL, PowerBI).

  • Experience in executive-level reporting writing and analysis.

  • Ability to develop and maintain dashboards, reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to convey insights and recommendations to sales teams and stakeholders.
