Job SummaryIron Mountain is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Architect – Platforms to join our Digital Business Unit (DBU) team. This critical role is centered on driving the architecture for Iron Mountain InSight, a cutting-edge AI enablement platform that uses industry-leading Machine Learning (ML), including custom models, to classify and extract entities from unstructured content (like Document Images, Audio, and Video files).
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the architecture team to deliver end-to-end, cost-effective solutions for new product features and customer-driven requirements. You will also be a key leader in coaching and mentoring the InSight engineering team and ensuring the successful delivery of features to customers.
What You’ll DoIn this role, you will:
Architect and Lead Solution Design: Guide and lead the architecture team to create optimal and cost-effective solution designs for new product features and complex customer requirements. This includes providing oversight for the design and delivery of effective solutions for InSight customers
Drive Technical Strategy and Collaboration: Work closely with multiple internal Iron Mountain teams, product management, and customers to understand and refine application and cloud architectural requirements (functional, security, integration, and performance). You will also lead design and solution discussions with various Iron Mountain partner vendors.
Ensure Technical Excellence and Stability: Identify and manage risks, assumptions, and mitigation strategies associated with solution design. You will also assist in troubleshooting major issues encountered during implementations and/or with newly developed product features.
Mentor and Cultivate Best Practices: Build, maintain, and lead a team of senior software engineers and architects. You will coach and mentor InSight engineering team members and continuously improve tools and processes for solution delivery.
Stay Current and Inform Roadmap: Stay current on practices and technologies across Cloud, AI/ML, Content Services, RPA, and BPM to provide input into project implementation plans and future roadmap items.
The ideal candidate will have:
10+ years in software development and implementation in a matrix environment.
5+ years of progressive technical experience implementing enterprise digitization solutions involving data capture, business processing management (BPM), and enterprise content management (ECM).
5+ years of experience in the design and solution of complex enterprise applications and working in an agile software development environment.
Strong technical background with a deep understanding of enterprise solutions including networking, storage, hardware, software layers, and strong knowledge of Cloud Technologies (GCP, Azure, or AWS).
Strong understanding of Machine Learning and AI techniques, including the usage of cognitive services and open-source models.
Proficiency in 5 or more of the following technologies/languages: Python, J2EE, SQL, BPMN, REST APIs, JSON/XML, Kubernetes, Computer Vision / NLP
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar education/experience is required. Architecture certification (e.g., TOGAF, ZACHMAN) is a plus.
