Senior Backend Software Engineer - Invoicing Tools

Squarespace is looking for a Backend Senior Software Engineer for the Invoicing Tools team. 

The Invoicing Tools team enables merchants who sell custom and project-based services to create a professional, convenient client experience – from managing leads to converting clients to getting paid. We are a product team building user experiences including an editor for creating and sending legal documents, tooling for billing clients through invoices and dashboards for managing client projects. 

As a backend engineer on the team, you’ll oversee the microservice architecture to build the APIs that power these experiences while mentoring engineers, partnering with cross-teams collaborators, and contributing code to complex projects that align technical investments with priorities.

This is a hybrid role working from our Dublin office 3 days per week. You will report to the Engineering Team Manager based in Dublin.

• Practice disciplined software engineering, writing server-side code, create high-volume production applications, and developing prototypes quickly.
• You will lead the development of new features and build backend services with Java.
• Collaborate with other engineers and designers to provide intuitive customer-focused experiences.

• 7+ years of development experience in Java, Kotlin, Go or another Object-oriented language. Experience developing large-scale software.
• A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices.
• A degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience.
